I went to go see “How To Train Your Dragon” 3D last night at the Star Cinema, so I took a picture on the way out. That just might be my scooter at the bottom left of the photo. The Star just upgraded their screen and projector for the full 3D experience, and “Dragon” is More >

I happened by the Star Cinema on 3rd Ave. a couple of days ago, and noticed they have repaired their awesome neon sign. The last time I noticed it, some of the letters were dark. I have no idea when that happened, but I’m very glad they did. The people who run the Star do More >

I’ve posted photos of the neon sign on the Star Cinema movie theater on 3rd Ave., but I adore it, so I’m doing it again. Part of the neon is in need of repair, which isn’t surprising. That sign has been around for many decades, and is in remarkably good shape, considering its age.

I went to the Star Cinema last night to see “Iron Man” (which I loved). While I was there, I took the opportunity to take another photo of the vintage neon sign outside the theater. Part of the lettering wasn’t lit, so I focused on the star and overall colorful nature of the sign instead. More >

I’ve posted a photo or two (okay, three) of the neon sign on the Star Cinema before, but it’s so cool, I’m doing it again. The flag behind the sign is at the police station, which sits right next door to the Star. I really need to go back at night when it’s lit and More >

I just got back from the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and thought I’d post a photo of the hearty souls waiting in line outside the theater. They were very kind to pose for me. For the record, both my niece and I loved the movie. It was awesome.

I went to see a movie a couple of nights ago, and took the opportunity to take another photo of the Star Cinema (web site) while I was there. It was quite appropriate for the S and T to be unlit in the ‘STAR’ on the neon, leaving it saying just ‘AR’. They were showing More >

Last weekend I took my niece to see a matinee at the Star Cinema in Stayton. We arrived early, so I took a couple photos of the theater. The one above is of their nifty matinee sign, which was made by a local artisan out of wrought iron. There’s a railing inside made by the More >

Back in June, I posted a photo of the Star Cinema in Stayton. That photo really didn’t do the place justice, so yesterday I took a new photo, this time at night. The building has neon lights which create a great atmosphere, like you’re stepping into the past when you walk through the door. To More >
