Big Ol' Truck

Monster Truck (In Color) in Stayton, Oregon

(Note: I couldn't decide if I liked today's photo in color or black and white, so click here for the black and white version)

This monster truck was sitting in a parking lot of a store in Stayton, advertising the Sublimity Harvest Festival coming up this weekend. Sublimity is a town about a stone's throw away from Stayton, and with the way Stayton's borders are expanding, I wouldn't be surprised if the distinction between the two towns eventually went the way of the wind.

The festival bills itself as a "tractor pull and monster truck show" and their web site shows a monster truck flying (more or less) over a tractor. I'm sensing a theme here.

I doubt I'll be able to go to the festival, but if I do, I'll be sure to take my camera.

Definitely colour. The truck detail get's lost in the background in b&w. Nice shot.

I thought color for sure until I saw the B&W one. Now I'm not so sure. However in the sprit of Sublimity Harvest Festival I think you made the correct choice posting the color version.

I see what you mean, Celine. The B&W zings out the tire treads at me, which I like. But, they tend to make the whole thing busy next to the truck paint details. Therefore, I like the color one best of the two, because the treads still have that dynamic stand out appeal, but the color of the truck paint design details distinguishes it and the business fades away. Supe shot, either way, though. And that IS a monster, for sure!

I like the B&W one. However, both are appealing! Nice shot! Congrats on hitting 100. I also hit 100... but did not realize it till I was at 103. LOL
