Daily Photo Theme Day: Doorways

Doorway to Learning - The Stayton Public Library in Stayton Oregon

The Daily Photo group has gotten together for another theme day, and today's theme is "doorways." My photo is of the door to the public library in Stayton. It is, both literally and figuratively, a doorway to learning. Reading is and will always be one of my favorite things. It's always great to see a child walk out of the library with books in their hands and eager expressions on their faces.

The library will have a groundbreaking ceremony on September 7th for a long anticipated expansion. I'll try to bring some photos of the event on the 8th.

Visit the links below for more photos from today's theme day!

Hi there:

Can you tell me how one gets included in the themes. I was not aware that there was a door theme in the works. I've only been involved in the City Daily Photo Blog for short while.

Cheers

That must be one of most beautiful places of your city. The library is not so big, so it's not so cold. And it has a warm atmosphere to read fantastic books, marvelous worlds.

What a warm and inviting doorway! Before I read the post, I thought it was perhaps patio doors on a private residence.

Also a lover of reading, I look forward to seeing the groundbreaking!

When we visit the library, we've now taken to using a rolling suitcase! We check out far too many books to carry =) still... the smiles are there!

Very cozy indeed, looks like a great place to curl up with a book. I love libraries too - free access to thousands of books (and movies too) - phenomenal!

Really great photo. I agree with Michael. Wish I could get my night shots like this! I had the same thought as you about the library doors being doorways in more ways than one. Your library is very appealing. I shot the Fremont branch of the Seattle Public Library's doorway for today, but it ended up being a runner-up photo. I think I will post my runner-up shots the next few days.
Kudos!
