Big pumpkin

Big Pumpkin

It's not easy to tell from the photo, but this is a large pumpkin. How large? Not a clue. But it's large. It's presently living at Postal Connections in Stayton, which is run by the rather nifty Don and Sue Harteloo.

It took two men (and I think a dolly or something... I really should pay better attention) to get it inside the door, but it proved too heavy to carry an extra 10 feet to the postal scale to weigh it. So there it sits, just inside the door, so folks can come inside and stare at it in awe... and tap it with their fingers to see if it's real. At least, that's what I did.

That's an AMAZING even color! Most of the ones I see that get that big are blotchy and scarred up.

I bought some today that were approximately 20 inches in diameter and they weighed 23 lb.s so I can only IMAGINE what that monster tips the scales at. Hoooweee!

Great Shot, Celine! As always... :D

Celine, I like your newer profile photo.
And wow, that chair in the background helps give some perspective to how enormous that pumpkin is. Super shot!
