Mighty Sun

Mighty Sun in Stayton Oregon

There's been a bit of a battle going on the skies over Stayton -- the sun vs. the clouds. And, unfortunately, the clouds are winning at the moment. I did manage to get a photo of the sun almost breaking through the other day. It was a glorious, albeit brief, moment. ;)

In case you were wondering, that tall thing on the bottom left is a light post in a parking lot. It reminds me of a helmet.

Nice photo! I looked up Stayton on the map...you are not far from Astoria.

I visited Astoria for the Lewis and Clark bicentennial a few years ago. We found out we were related to one of the explorers so we had a family reunion out there. My first time to Oregon. Drove up the coast (into Washington) and the coastline was just beautiful! So different from what I'm used to. I loved the rocky coast...gorgeous!
