Scenes From a Table

Happy Thanksgiving from Stayton Oregon Daily Photo

I hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday had a great holiday. My brother and his family came out to our house and we ate entirely too much, talked too loud, and nobody got in a fight with anyone, so it was all good.

That's my 14-year-old niece pictured above eating during Thanksgiving dinner. I don't know why she suddenly became shy in front of the camera, because she's usually anything but. Oh, wait, sure I do -- she's a teenager. It's her job to be contrary.

FYI, her shirt says: "I can only please one person a day. Today is not your day."

That was a great candid shot. I suspect most all of us can identify with the table and the teenager! And hopefully, most of us can say that the day passed without any fights among family members.

I love this shot and so identify with the teenaager comment...thank goodness I'm the grandma now and not the mom. I also loved the tupperware salt and pepper shakers. My mom used to sell tupperware and I have those identical pieces!

At least she sat still! Every time we tried to take a pic of my younger sister, she got up from the table and ran, dodged, Bob and weave.
And she's 30+ so she has no excuse. Other than she's been contrary her WHOLE life.
Oh Well, gotta love 'em anyway! :D
