Christmas Trees For Sale

The above is from the local Boy Scouts Christmas tree lot, which is being silently and ardently guarded by Mr. Frosty T. Snowman. If you don't pay, he bonks you on the head with his cane. If you're rude -- bonk. If you look at him funny -- bonk. Don't mess with Frosty. Hey, it's all for a good cause.
Tune in tomorrow to find out what Frosty does in his off time.

ohh, good gestures for a good cause
I always feel so sorry for those poor Christmas trees, cut down before they reach their prime, only to be chucked out in the garbage in a couple of weeks time, another testament to de-treeifying the planet!
Sally, the vast majority of the time, Christmas trees are from Christmas tree farms, where they grow trees for the specific purpose of being Christmas trees, so I don't think it contributes to deforestation.
If it weren't for the farms, these trees wouldn't exist in the first place. So even if they are just thrown away at the end of the season, they do contribute to the environment in while they're growing.
There are many Christmas tree farms around Oregon, with one being just a few blocks from my house. You can see it by clicking here.
Obviously, there are exceptions, such as when people cut down their own trees from public land, etc. But the trees in the photo are from a tree farm.
