A Town in White

Yesterday was very cold, but absolutely beautiful. Frost settled on all the trees, bushes, etc., in town, and stayed there the entire day. And since the trees and so on are everywhere in Stayton, the whole town looked like a crystallized wonderland. The photo above is overlooking town from partway up a hill.
Note: the photo is in color. Nature, however, was in black and white. :)
I again visited the Christmas tree field I posted two days ago -- the thumbnail at right shows the trees covered in frost. Click on it to view a bigger version.Today's weather will be a bit warmer and rainy. It would be nice to go above freezing for a change, but there was something magical about yesterday, and I'm sorry to see it change.

this photo is very beautiful. I miss the snow here...why it doesnt want to come?:)
nice color tone! it's like a thin layer of icings on nature!
Hoarfrost is so beautiful! Thanks for the other links, too!
another beautiful capture of the frost!
All the details of branches, twigs and needles are wonderful. I'll never forget when I left Oregon in 1976, everything was covered in ice and snow, and then there was fog on top of it going to the Medford airport. What a drive down the mountain to Ashland!
