Parking Lot Lights
Jan 31st
These lights reside in the parking lot at Santiam Memorial Hospital. For whatever reason, they always remind me of helmets. It’s just one of those things, I suppose.
On a side note, yesterday was Stayton Daily Photo’s 8th month anniversary. I wasn’t sure when I started if I’d be able to keep this up for any length of time — Stayton’s a pretty small town, and I wasn’t sure I’d keep finding things to photograph — so color me surprised that I’m still here. Here’s to many more, I hope.
Thanks the guest photographers, visitors, and of course you lovely people who leave comments.
Be sure to come back tomorrow for the monthly city daily photo theme day.

Rushing Water
Jan 27th
Here’s the photo I promised yesterday from guest photographer Ronda Faught of nearby Sublimity. It’s of some rushing water at Multnomah Falls on the Columbia Gorge.
Thanks again to Ronda for providing another lovely photo! Be sure not to miss yesterday’s photo of the falls.
Multnomah Falls
Jan 26th
We have another treat today! Guest photographer Ronda Faught (see her photos of Silver Falls here and here) sent another couple of photos, this time of Multnomah Falls, which is located in the Columbia Gorge, which is located along the northern border of Oregon. Ronda took the photos in December, and they’re just lovely.
I’ll show you the other photo, a nice shot of some rushing water, in tomorrow’s post. Thanks again, Ronda!

Peace in the Valley
Jan 25th
Today’s photo looks west at some pretty trees and a distant blue hill. It’s a peaceful picture and was taken in a valley (the Willamette Valley, to be precise), so I felt the title was appropriate.
Well, that and I couldn’t think of anything else. It’s hard coming up with a title every single day, ya know?
Late Afternoon
Jan 24th
I took this photo yesterday afternoon of my favorite oak trees on E. Pine St. I love it when nature puts on a show, since all I have to do is take the photo. Even the airplane-made contrails in the sky seem to be lined up and posing.
I took a few other photos of the trees… click on the thumbnails below to see them:

The Lights of Jordan Bridge
Jan 23rd
It’s been awhile since I last posted a photo of Jordan Bridge, a covered bridge which resides at Pioneer Park. The other day was the first time I’d seen its lights turned on. I guess maybe I should look up more often.
I assume they turn them on at night, and it was near dusk when I took the photo. The lights created a nice effect on an otherwise dreary day.
Cascade Foothills
Jan 22nd
Stayton sits near the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range. It’s easy to forget, since there are so many trees in town to block the view, but the foothills can be seen if you take the time to look.
Today’s photo was taken while standing on top of a hill on 6th Ave., looking… um… east? Southeast? Something like that. I had to shoot it through some trees, but that’s pretty much a given when you’re in Stayton. The foothills are covered in trees and some snow.
I wish I could go to outskirts of town to take better photos, but my little scooter can’t go outside of town (it’s a speed thing). If anyone out there has photos of the Cascades, or something else scenic or interesting or pretty (you get the idea) you’d like to have posted here, please send ‘em on over. My email address is at right, under ‘to contribute.’ Thanks!
