These lights reside in the parking lot at Santiam Memorial Hospital. For whatever reason, they always remind me of helmets. It’s just one of those things, I suppose.
On a side note, yesterday was Stayton Daily Photo’s 8th month anniversary. I wasn’t sure when I started if I’d be able to keep this up for any [...]

The front of this home on 3rd Ave. looks like it’s from a different era. I’d love to have a big porch on the front of my home, with room for a chair swing like this one has.

I seem to be on a sky-oriented kick lately. Today’s photo is a shot of the sun creating a bright spot in the sky as it was on its way to setting. If you look close (or click on the image and then choose ‘all sizes’ to see it larger), you can see the faint [...]

And now, for the off kilter portion of our program. Today’s photo is of the side of a mossy metal mailbox (I just love alliteration). I took it at an angle because that’s where the best moss was, and ended up liking the effect.
But, then again, I am easily entertained.

Here’s the photo I promised yesterday from guest photographer Ronda Faught of nearby Sublimity. It’s of some rushing water at Multnomah Falls on the Columbia Gorge.
Thanks again to Ronda for providing another lovely photo! Be sure not to miss yesterday’s photo of the falls.

We have another treat today! Guest photographer Ronda Faught (see her photos of Silver Falls here and here) sent another couple of photos, this time of Multnomah Falls, which is located in the Columbia Gorge, which is located along the northern border of Oregon. Ronda took the photos in December, and they’re just lovely.
I’ll show [...]

Today’s photo looks west at some pretty trees and a distant blue hill. It’s a peaceful picture and was taken in a valley (the Willamette Valley, to be precise), so I felt the title was appropriate.
Well, that and I couldn’t think of anything else. It’s hard coming up with a title every single day, ya [...]

I took this photo yesterday afternoon of my favorite oak trees on E. Pine St. I love it when nature puts on a show, since all I have to do is take the photo. Even the airplane-made contrails in the sky seem to be lined up and posing.
I took a few other photos of the [...]

It’s been awhile since I last posted a photo of Jordan Bridge, a covered bridge which resides at Pioneer Park. The other day was the first time I’d seen its lights turned on. I guess maybe I should look up more often.
I assume they turn them on at night, and it was near dusk when [...]

Stayton sits near the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range. It’s easy to forget, since there are so many trees in town to block the view, but the foothills can be seen if you take the time to look.
Today’s photo was taken while standing on top of a hill on 6th Ave., looking… um… east? [...]

The snow may have melted here, but apparently I’m not ready to stop posting snow-related photos. I just can’t help myself.
Today’s photo is of some wood things which border Neitling Park, which is just north of (and just across a side street from) Pioneer Park on the corner of 7th Ave. and Marion St. I [...]

Welcome to low-res day. I shot (hence the title) this photo of a nifty fish in a fish tank with my Palm PDA. It was all I had at the time. I cleaned up the image the best I could.
It was taken in my doctor’s office. I have no clue what kind of fish the [...]

A beautiful sunny winter day at Silver Falls
Here’s the second photo from guest photographer Ronda Faught of nearby Sublimity. It’s yet another beautiful photo of the falls at Silver Falls State Park, which is about 16 miles northeast of Stayton. I simply adore this photo.
If you missed yesterday’s photo, click here. It is definitely worth [...]

A beautiful sunny winter day at Silver Falls
I have a definite treat for everyone today! Guest photographer Ronda Faught of nearby Sublimity took two stunning photos of the falls at Silver Falls State Park, which is about 16 miles northeast of Stayton. The photos were taken on January 14th.
This is nature at its finest. I’ll [...]

The above is a fence which surrounds the Holm Building on 2nd Ave (see the full building, which I posted back in June, 2006). I think the fence is beautiful, with all kinds of twists and turns. Something like that would look great around my front yard. Think they’d notice if I borrowed it for [...]
