Cascade Foothills

Stayton sits near the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range. It's easy to forget, since there are so many trees in town to block the view, but the foothills can be seen if you take the time to look.

Today's photo was taken while standing on top of a hill on 6th Ave., looking... um... east? Southeast? Something like that. I had to shoot it through some trees, but that's pretty much a given when you're in Stayton. The foothills are covered in trees and some snow.

I wish I could go to outskirts of town to take better photos, but my little scooter can't go outside of town (it's a speed thing). If anyone out there has photos of the Cascades, or something else scenic or interesting or pretty (you get the idea) you'd like to have posted here, please send 'em on over.
