This man was sitting in the grass while his dog played in the water at Pioneer Park the other day. So I took a picture. And posted it here.

(Click here to see my Flickr photoset from the concert!) Last night was the second of two free summer concerts held at Pioneer Park, this time featuring The Oregon Valley Boys, an Oregon-based western swing band. As usual, I took a bunch of photos and posted a good chuck of them to a Flickr photoset, More >

It’s been a remarkably long time since I last posted a photo of my favorite Stayton landmark (February, to be exact), so it’s high time to do it again. Oh, Jordan Bridge at Pioneer Park, I just can’t stay away. You call to me like a siren’s song. Or that could be tinnitus. Whichever. Speaking More >

Guest photographer Hugo sent in today’s lovely photo. His description: The setting sun set this little red wagon glowing in Pioneer Park and, since I had my camera at the ready, I took the shot. The little girl who owns this wagon was off playing with her dad, giggling and having a great time. It’s More >

Guest photographer Keith Curry sent in this lovely photo he took yesterday of what he calls “a nice walk at Pioneer Park.” It is, indeed. Thanks, Keith! Photo is copyright © Keith W. Curry. All rights reserved. Do not copy or reproduce in any way without permission of photographer.

It’s been a remarkably long time since I last posted a flower photo (nine whole days!), so here’s another one. I took this photo at the edge of Pioneer Park, near the big rock at the entrance. I thought I knew what it was, but a Google search proved me wrong. So I don’t have More >

Nothing exciting today, just a photo of the basketball court area at Pioneer Park. I haven’t been able to go out and take new photos for the last handful of days due to rainy weather, so I’m scraping the bottom of the barrel at the moment. I took this earlier this week when I was More >

Yep. Branches. Greenish branches because of moss. Yep. So, uh… yep. That’s about it, really. Oh, well, I took this photo at Pioneer Park. Other than that… nothing, really. Yep.

These Douglas-Fir trees live at Pioneer Park. Douglas-Firs are all over the place in this part of Oregon, and I adore them. I love all trees, really, but these are my favorites. So tall and grand.

Visitor and great idea person Jason Jones suggested I do a “then and now” comparison of the Stayton-Jordan Bridge. He pointed me to some photos in the Salem Library online archive of the bridge, taken around 1960. And so I shall. I don’t want to post the Library’s photos here because it would violate their More >

You’ve painted a Monet with your photo-for a ditch, it’s quite beautiful!

Gorgeous
yike’s Lynn — you here too — love to see you skinny-dipping but this patch of water don’t look all that fresh and healthy so I’d have to advice against it — hope you’re getting over your flu — but you might catch something lethal here.

Lynn, whatever tickles your fancy.
It isn’t deep, so I’m not sure how effective swimming would be… but you’d sure give others at the park quite the show. ;
Thanks, Chris/Deb. I’m glad you like it.
Gerald, the water’s just fine… the green’s only a reflection. The water itself is very clear. Thanks for the compliment on the photo.
