So A-peel-ing

So A-peel-ing in Stayton Oregon

A small apartment building on 2nd Ave. was painting fairly recently... within the last few years, I think. Apparently it didn't go quite as planned, since it's already peeling quite a bit.

For whatever reason, the pattern of the peeling paint reminds me of a world map. Well, maybe a world map as painted by a hyperactive chicken, but still, a map of the world.

On a side note, I want to thank Abraham Lincoln at Brookville (Ohio) Daily Photo for taking the time to comment so often on my and others' daily photo blogs. Be sure to visit his blog for great photos of wildlife, plus much more.

You're so right, about the world map, and Abraham. I'd say they spent NOTHINGin their painting effort on surface preparation - a cheap slap-up over a bad surface....

Well, here I am again! And I got to read my name on "your" blog. That is about the nicest compliment anybody could ask for. I really thank you and appreciate it a lot.

I thought your picture was of some mold or lichen growing. Had no idea somebody tried to paint acrylic paint on top of oil based paint. It looks like that to me. But it could also be fungus. Creepy.

Thanks also for your visits to my blog and for your comments there.

That's funny that Abraham says creepy! I thought beautiful! I'm sure the occupants are not too happy that they'll have to do the job over again.
