Long May She Wave

Today's photo is of the American flag which flies above the police station on 3rd Ave. I tend to take a lot of photos of the flag, since it represents this country, with every part of the design full of meaning.
Plus it's pretty.

It is a beautiful flag. I like your post today. And I might mention that, during parades, people should stand and place their hand over their heart or use the military hand salute.
In contrast to the above, the last parade I went to here in my home town, I was the only person standing and saluting the flag. Every man, woman and child remained on the hind ends looking at me like I was some kind of nut.
And this is what I was trained to fight for during the Korean War.
I have 1 baby raccoon today and a pile of poop!

Abraham, we as a nation may have gotten lazy, but we do still put together when it really counts. Look at what happened after September 11, 2001.
And I doubt they thought you were a nut... they were probably just amazed anyone still did that anymore. It's sad, but no one wants to stand out in a crowd. Good for you for doing it, anyway.
Abraham, thank you for your service. Celine, Great Photo. I love shooting Flags too.
I too am a veteran of a foreign war and it saddens me to see people just sitting there as the honor guard passes.
