Nature's Beaker

Nature's Beaker - A Red Hot Poker Flower in Stayton Oregon

Today's photo is of the last vestiges of a red hot poker / torch lilly / kniphofia uvaria flower. To me, it looks like nature's version of Beaker from The Muppet Show.

The flowers are much prettier when they're in full bloom, but I didn't happen upon it in time for that.

I've never seen the flower before. And the one in full bloom is amazingly beautiful.
Great photos.

A good photograph showing the flower as it begins to turn red. I think that is eventually turns all red. Or the ones I have seen here do that.

Cool looking plant. I've never seen one before.
