Pole Position
Today's photo is from the completely random files of my brain (and camera). It's a utility (telephone?) pole with lots of stuff which I'm sure serve very important utility (telephone?) functions. Don't ask me what those functions may be.

Since that is a transformer that reduces line voltage down for home use, the pole is a utility pole that contains both phone and power lines and may even have cable television on it as well. It is an interesting shot as utility poles go and reminds me of the tangled web of lines strung in a haphazard way in Baghdad that I saw on television last night during the news. It was a mess.

I'd hate to be the technician who has to sort that lot out - it's bad enough trying to work out which cable leads from my electrical adaptor to my laptop... :D
