Back In Time

Back In Time - 3rd Avenue in the historic downtown area of Stayton Oregon

I took this shot of 3rd Avenue the other day while standing in front of City Hall, and it just kinda felt like the scene was from another time. So I fiddled with it to give it an aged look to fit what I felt the mood to be. Just, ya know, ignore all those modern cars and such in the photo, 'kay? :)

Great work on this photo. I really can imagine how you felt when you took the shot.

I agree, Celine. The feeling is there for me, too. Especially since I'm right now watching OPB's broadcast of "The War," Ken Burns' documentary on WWII. There have been several still shots of towns around the USA that look much like your photo.

OK I'm ignoring the new cars and you are right, it does look like a scene from another age.

Is that a dirt street or did you just make it look that way?

Thank you for your kind comments, everyone. Faye, no, it's not a dirt road... the way I processed the photo brought out the texture in the pavement. I guess it does look like dirt, now that I think about it. :)
