Outstanding In Its Field

This is a tree. A fairly large tree. It's standing in a field. The field is part of Neitling Park. Wow.
Sorry. It's not always easy coming up with captions. I suppose I could make something up. Like the tree is really a space alien come to take over Stayton, and that all the other trees in town are in cahoots, and one day soon we'll all be woken up by tree roots and limbs creeping and reaching into our houses and taking over our lives, forcing us humans to be their watering and fertilizing minions.
Or maybe I shouldn't. After all, what if I'm right? What if, at this very moment, the trees in town are reading this and are plotting against me? My yard has a lot of trees in it. I'm literally surrounded. So I'll just keep quiet. It's better that way.

Sounds like you should get a chainsaw. You know, for self defense. ;)
The colors are outstanding. Your musings are hilarious. Thanks for the great big smile I have on my face right now!
That is a pic closest to something you would see in Australia I have seen ona US site - the solitary tree, the fence palings and the backyards backing on to the reserve. usually we see fronts of houses,; I am fascinated by backs!
