And Yet A Few Still Linger
This is historic, friends. Yes, today I am not posting autumn leaves! They said it couldn’t be done (or maybe that was me), but it’s true.
Well, okay, mostly true. There are a couple of leaves on the tree, but just barely. Hardly noticeable. In fact, the overly dramatic title of today’s post comes from the fruit of some variety which still hang from the branches. If you can’t see them, click on the photo and choose ‘all sizes’ to see a bigger version.
For those who may care (and, really, why would you?), this was taken at the east end of Jefferson St.

Guest photographer John Brandt took today’s photo of a dead tree (or part of a tree) in Wilderness Park he doesn’t expect to survive another winter. I haven’t been through that park in some time. I really need to do it again very soon. Once the temperature cools down a bit, that is.

Stayton is almost completely surrounded by country roads (the exception is the north side where Sublimity is located, not far down the road). There are a lot of scenes like the one above — trees, grass, and clouds. I took this particular shot along Kingston-Jordan Dr., just south of town, over the weekend.
