Guest photographer Patrick sent in today’s photo. His description: This guy was taking a snooze under the bridge south of town a couple weeks ago. Seemed like he had the right idea because other boats that were docking reported no luck with the fish upriver. I love it. It looks like the ideal way to More >

Guest photographer Ronda Faught captured the above image of a brief snowfall in the Stayton area a few days ago. Tomorrow I’ll post another image from Ronda of a very different looking sky taken on the same day. Aren’t the branches on the trees rather nifty? For some reason, it looks to me like the More >

Clear Lake is AMAZING! I can personally attest to this. My husband and I took our kayaks there about two years ago and I took some incredible pictures, too. The water is crystal clear and icy cold. Looking into the water, you can see 30, 40, 50 feet straight down. It’s more than a little eerie to float over the tips of the ancient submerged trees. The water magnification makes it seem like you could touch their tops with your fingers, but they’re father beneath the surface than they appear. I highly recommend this as a “must see” place! Thanks for sharing this gorgeous picture!
