As for how I did it, I put my camera's lens on manual focus (a 50mm 1.8 on a Canon Rebel XT) and adjusted the focus until it blurred the lights like I wanted, and took the picture.
It's pretty easy to do if your camera has manual focus.
That is some mighty fine bokeh ya got there!
The big shot photographers will probably tell ya that really good bokeh is brightest at the center. But whatda they know? They're all hung up on their 'circles of confusion' anyway. ;)
Very nicely done! Yours is the first I've seen of a whole tree. I'm gonna halfta try something before the season of lights is over.
