Today is Memorial Day in the United States (see the Wikipedia entry for this holiday). The City put out several U.S. flags along 3rd Ave. in honor of the day and what it means. I took this photo in front of City Hall. This holiday is technically intended to honor those who have died while More >

These flags fly over the fire department on Ida St. I don’t have a picture of it, but the back side of the Oregon flag has a beaver, because Oregon is “The Beaver State.” (Insert your favorite beaver-related joke here.) I’ve posted photos of Rumours Restaurant & Lounge on 3rd Ave. before, but I was in the area a couple of nights ago, so I’m doing it again. I love the lighted signs on this place.

I went to go see “How To Train Your Dragon” 3D last night at the Star Cinema, so I took a picture on the way out. That just might be my scooter at the bottom left of the photo. The Star just upgraded their screen and projector for the full 3D experience, and “Dragon” is More >

I’ve been posting a lot of flowers lately (yay, spring!), so in an effort to show you something entirely different, here’s a neon sign with… oh, look. It has a flower on it. It even says “flowers.” Darn. Well, I tried. Kinda. This sign hangs in one of the windows at the Roth’s grocery store More >

Today is the US holiday Memorial Day (read the Wikipedia entry to find out what it entails). I stopped by Lone Oak Cemetery, which is on the corner of 3rd Ave. and Fern Ridge Rd., yesterday to take this photo. A Stayton (our town was named for Drury Smith Stayton) family tombstone sits in the More >

That reminds me of high school. I went to Stayton Union High and we used to go to the Star cinema all the time. Nice to see the old building still stands as is.
