A Trickle Becomes A Flood

Today's photo is the final image from my trip to Silver Falls State Park, an amazing park not far from Stayton (see also: South Falls, North Falls, Upper North Falls, and a black-tailed deer).
The above photo of water cascading down some rocks was taken near a bridge in front of South Falls. You can spot such mini-waterfalls (or whatever they're called) in various locations around the park.
We also came across some very cool (ha!) icicles near Upper North Falls. My pictures of them didn't turn out all that great, but my friend Steve captured a very nice one. Check out his photo: Nature's Ice Sculpture.

Beautiful high contrast BW and a nice water flow capture. Super job!
Water pictures like this have always been a favorite. Years ago I had an organized set of small stream images I'd photographed that I was quite proud of that I called my 'babbling brook' collection. This would have made a great addition to that.
It is to bad blogger doesn't capture basic exposure data from the EXIF during upload and displayed that with the pictures. That information would be quite useful to photographers.
smooth and rugged at the same time. I too would be interested in the image data. Great job.
Thanks to both of you. It was taken with a Canon Rebel XT and a Canon EF 28-105mm II USM lens. Here's the EXIT info:
Exposure: 1.3 sec
Aperture: f/20
Focal Length: 105 mm
ISO Speed: 100
And I used an ND4 filter on the lens.
If you click on the photo it goes to its Flickr page. From there, you can click on 'more properties' in the bottom right-hand menu for full EXIF data.
I love Silver Falls so close to where we both live. You have captured it so very well.
Celine - I have browsed your photos occasionally over the past year. I moved to Stayton briefly over the summer but returned to Iowa for family reasons. Anyhow, I wanted to say that this photo is stunning, as are many of your pictures of the Santiam Valley. It keeps me from missing Oregon too much; such a gorgeous area! Thank you for your beautiful works.
