Uprooted

A friend and I went on a bit of a road trip yesterday to a couple of the covered bridges in the area (I'll likely post a photo of each over the next two days). Somewhere in the vicinity of nearby Scio, we went by this awesome old tree in the middle of a fog intensive field. It's awesome, and I want to take it home and make it my own.

Very dramatic in the surrounding fog.
You always have the most stunning tree photos...such a joy to see!

Nicely framed... good use of the rule of thirds. The sepia treatment gives this a very unusual look.
Beautiful photo! Did you grow up in Stayton? I went to Stayton High, class of '89. I enjoy your blog.
What a wonderful and dramatic photo!
Thank you, everyone! It was a beautiful setting... would have been hard to take a bad photo of it, I think.
Michele, yep, I've lived here all my life. I graduated from Stayton High in 1992, so we were both there at the same time in 1989. :)
Very good.
Striking photo, great use of light, very impressive tree!
