At The End Of The Day
A new neighborhood is being built on the east end of town, between Jefferson St. and Santiam St. This piece of construction equipment (a backhoe? I'm not sure) was sitting prettily as the sun went down behind it. I haven't really shot into the sun much before, but it seemed to work out okay.

The main thing is to block out the actual sun with something and you seem to have done that with the tree trunk. It gives a glow then to everything else between the sun and your camera. I would say this is a nice shot for your first time.
