Fallen Spring Leaf - a dead leaf in Stayton Oregon

Some of you may remember my interest (okay, obsession) I have with autumn leaves (check out the autumn category of this here site for examples).

Well, it seems some of those autumn leaves stuck around and decided to fall in the spring. Which, despite them being dead and brown, made me happy. So here’s a dead, crumbly, brown leaf. Enjoy. ;)

  1. Hi Celine,

That would be your common, ordinary, “Pin Oak” leaf from a Pin Oak tree and they do hang on all winter to litter the fresh green grass of spring with brown leaves. They used to get in my birds nest juniper and I had to poke myself up trying to get them all out.

It is a nice shot and brings back a lot of memories of a tree that I bought from my brother-in-law. And which is now gone.

  2. this is a lovely photo. Interesting to see the dead leaf with the new vegetation coming up too.
