DP Theme Day: "No . . ." Signs

No, No, No - signs in Stayton Oregon

It's city daily photo theme day time again. Today's theme is "no" signs which can be found around town. I have to say I had trouble finding them, which was a bit of a surprise to me. A happy surprise, in fact, which means I had to go in search of the negative and didn't come up with much. That's rather cool.

The 'no skateboarding' signs where in parking lots, on sidewalks, or on the covered bridge in town, the private property sign was on a fence near a house, the no dumping sign was above a dumpster behind a business, the no solicitors sign was on a bed and breakfast, and the no swimming sign was over a water canal where it simply isn't safe to swim. All in all, pretty reasonable stuff.

A whole bunch of other city daily photo blogs are participating in today's theme, so give 'em a look see by following the links below:

Haha, Rambling, you're right!

Celine: That's a lot of signs - but from what you've written, you've probably photographed every such sign in town!

Well, I never! Fantastic, Celine, as I would expect from someone as accomplished as you.

Your search was wll worth it and these do make a super collage. You're right that they all seem reasonable. After reading your comment I thought, "Oh my gosh, have kids tryed to skate the covered bridge?" What costly damage that would be!

PS- I posted at about 2:30 today, and like you changed the date and time to July 1 at 12AM, but my post hasn't shown up on the portal. It's live and not a scheduled post, so I'm wondering what's up. Any idea? This happened the last couple months, as well. -K.

Rambling: oh YES!

Sometimes: darned near.

Lynette: I'm accomplished at something? Don't tell the neighbors!

Kim: yep, kids have tried to skate the covered bridge. More than once. I actually had to call the police once. I don't mind kids skating (I did it as a kid), but not on the bridge.

As for posting times, I originally posted mine to show up at 7pm on the 30th. Once it posted, I changed it to 12am on the 1st. The newfangled Blogger posting at the time specified thing is kinda tricky. Ya gotta post it first, and then change the time to later, or it won't show up until the later time. And then you have to sing "Let's do the time warp againnnnn!!!" Really.

Hi Celine,

The bees are back in Brookville, Ohio. I hope for the rest of the year at least. I even got one on my Better Blog Writing post today. LOL

I see you found an adorable No signs for our July Theme Day.

Isn't it almost funny to think of adult people scurrying around their communities taking pictures of signs. And if somebody had asked what that is all about and you said a sign with "no" on it, they might... well. It is kind of funny.

Skateboarding was just getting popular when I was growing up. I never got into it. I think those things should be outlawed all over. Those dang young kids.

Great collage. If a tally is being taken, I think No Parking and No Skateboarding are in the lead so far.

And I failed to get a no parking sign. I meant to, but never spotted one before theme day.

I'm glad your photo is a collage and all these no signs are not in one place ... Very positive view that you had to work hard to find these negative signs ... I once posted a photo of a sign which said "please stay on the sidewalk" which is taking the positive approach instead of "no walking on the grass" ... positive is always better.

You must have gotten all the "No" signs in your town.

Thanks Celine. That is exactly what I did, but the CDPB portal picked yours up, and not mine. The portal went live with it at 12AM Pacific time. It didn't used to delay the post until the time specified on the post. I used to post early all the time so I could get to bed at a decent hour, and people would leave comments about "hey, how'd you do that."
I know how to fool Blogger's scheduled posts, it's the CDPB portal that has me yanking hair. Oh well. I'll try the song, that may be the key!
Thanks again.

I like the collage effect. I also had a hard time finding a sign. I can't believe you found so many! :)
