Autumn At The Jones Hotel

Friday, October 31st, 2008

This apartment building on the corner of 2nd Ave. and High St. was once known as the Jones Hotel. I love the brilliant colors on the trees on either side of the building.
By the way, Happy Halloween to all the ghosts and goblins out there. Stay safe, and eat some sugar-intensive candy for me.

Blaze Of Glory

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

A few weeks ago I posted a photo of some trees next to my favorite power canal off of 4th Ave. The trees in that photo were mostly green, with hints of the Autumn color which was to come.
The photo above is of the same scene as before, but this time the color is entirely [...]

Autumn Avenue

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

This sight was too pretty to pass up. Not that I would, I’m just sayin’. I didn’t even come close to doing the brilliant color justice… the oranges and yellows were simply amazing to see.
This was taken on the corner of 2nd Ave. and Florence St. I actually paid attention to what street on was [...]

Come & Sit Awhile With Me

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Yet another autumn leaves photo for today. I think I took this one near the pool at the Community Center complex, but I’m not entirely sure.

I’m Yellow & I’m Awesome

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Okay, yes, I’m posting yet another photo of autumn leaves. It’s really not my fault — they’re everywhere around town right now! So, you know… blame Mother Nature.
Besides, in no time at all it will be winter and I’ll be wishing I’d taken more photos of autumn leaves. So bear with me for a little [...]

Walk Through Autumn

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

I started a thing back in May where I took a picture of trees lining a path at Neitling Park. At the time, they were showing off pretty spring colors. I did the same in July, when the trees were a vivid green.
Today’s photo is the autumn version. The trees haven’t full changed colors yet, [...]

Bedding Down

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Yes, more random autumn leaves for today. I can’t help it, they’re just too pretty. I’m fairly certain these were taken near near the pool in the Community Center complex, though I’m not entirely sure. I lose track sometimes.

Alone & Misunderstood

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Another autumn leaf/leaves day, this time of a lonely little leaf in a parking lot. Poor little leaf, destined as it is to spend the rest of its time on earth on the cold, hard pavement. Unless it gets blown away. Or stuck to a car. Whatever.

Covering All The Bases

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

This makes me giggle. Jack Fiske and Gerry Aboud are both running for mayor of Stayton. These two signs, which appear to be in front of the same business, apparently take an either/or approach to the campaign. Vote for this guy! Unless you vote for the other guy! Whatever works!
Maybe it’s just a reminder to [...]

Find Me

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Aspen’s photo from yesterday inspired me to go out and take some photos of autumn leaves. The above is from a tree at Neitling Park.
I’ll be posting more autumn leaves photos, since it’s one of my favorite photo subjects. Stay tuned.

Enter Autumn

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Guest photographer Aspen Thomas sent in today’s photo, taken a handful of days ago via camera phone. It was taken between the pool and tennis courts at the Community Center complex. The beautiful red on the tree really comes through beautifully.
Aspen caught the tree at the right time… I went to it a couple of [...]

Hey, Don’t I Need To Sign A Model Release?

Monday, October 20th, 2008

My friends the cows on E. Jefferson St. were out and about in their field next to the road yesterday. I had six or seven cows gathered around the gate wondering what on earth I was doing. I took several photos, but haven’t gone through most of them yet. The young one in the photo [...]

In Its Natural State

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

Guest photographer Moe sent me today’s photo of a nifty old car, saying “You like them old cars, how about one before it gets all spruced up and shiny?” Sounds good to me. It’s very cool looking, shiny or not.
Thanks, Moe, as always.

Shed

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

Today’s post is the final photo from guest photographer Sara Moberg (see also: Wednesday’s, Thursday’s, and Friday’s posts). A cool shed in a field. I love the mood of the photo.
Thank you once again to Sara. I’ve really enjoyed posting her photos and sharing them with the rest of the world. Feel free to contribute [...]

Zoom

Friday, October 17th, 2008

Today’s post is another photo from guest photographer Sara Moberg (see also: Wednesday’s and Thursday’s posts). I love the sense of motion it has.
I think I’m going to post one more photo from Sara tomorrow. She has a nifty one of a shed which would make a great post. Thanks again to Sara for sharing [...]
