Autumn At The Jones Hotel

Blaze Of Glory
Oct 30th
A few weeks ago I posted a photo of some trees next to my favorite power canal off of 4th Ave. The trees in that photo were mostly green, with hints of the Autumn color which was to come.
The photo above is of the same scene as before, but this time the color is entirely different. What a different a few weeks can make. I love autumn for all the beautiful colors to be found on the trees right now. It’s really remarkable to me to see it each year.
Autumn Avenue

This sight was too pretty to pass up. Not that I would, I’m just sayin’. I didn’t even come close to doing the brilliant color justice… the oranges and yellows were simply amazing to see.
This was taken on the corner of 2nd Ave. and Florence St. I actually paid attention to what street on was on this time. Woot.

I’m Yellow & I’m Awesome
Oct 27th
Okay, yes, I’m posting yet another photo of autumn leaves. It’s really not my fault — they’re everywhere around town right now! So, you know… blame Mother Nature.
Besides, in no time at all it will be winter and I’ll be wishing I’d taken more photos of autumn leaves. So bear with me for a little while longer.
This photo was taken on 6th Ave.
Walk Through Autumn
Oct 26th
I started a thing back in May where I took a picture of trees lining a path at Neitling Park. At the time, they were showing off pretty spring colors. I did the same in July, when the trees were a vivid green.
Today’s photo is the autumn version. The trees haven’t full changed colors yet, but the trees on the right are about to lose all their leaves, so I figured I should get the shot now before it was too late. I plan on doing this shot again in the winter, when all the leaves will be gone.

Covering All The Bases

This makes me giggle. Jack Fiske and Gerry Aboud are both running for mayor of Stayton. These two signs, which appear to be in front of the same business, apparently take an either/or approach to the campaign. Vote for this guy! Unless you vote for the other guy! Whatever works!
Maybe it’s just a reminder to vote, which is a good idea. Since we already have our ballots here in Oregon (gotta love the statewide mail ballots!), it’s super easy to do. I don’t care which way you vote (I won’t preach politics here… there are a bazillion other blogs for that), just be sure you do vote.
Find Me
Oct 22nd
Aspen’s photo from yesterday inspired me to go out and take some photos of autumn leaves. The above is from a tree at Neitling Park.
I’ll be posting more autumn leaves photos, since it’s one of my favorite photo subjects. Stay tuned.
