Vanishing
Nov 30th
A big ol’ train was hanging out on the tracks on W. Locust St. yesterday, so I stopped and took a few (okay, several) photos of the train itself, and details of some of the graffiti scattered on the train’s sides. I’ll post some of the graffiti tomorrow.
By the way, if the person who honked at me (provided it was me being honked at) while I was taking the train photos is out there, then hi to you, too.
Someday I Will Rule The World

I was heading into Postal Connections on Shaff Rd. a few days ago, when I spotted this insect on a post outside the store. It seemed only mildly annoyed when I grabbed my macro lens and started taking pictures. As usual, I have no idea what type of insect it is, though it was fairly large… maybe one to one and a half inches long, including its wings.
Only The Beginning

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday, whether or not you celebrated Thanksgiving.
Today’s photo is of the aptly named Park Rd., which runs between Neitling Park and Pioneer Park, and then back around the wooded area behind Pioneer Park. I took this right where the road goes from paved to dirt, like you see above. I can’t recall ever going very far back on the dirt part, but I think there are houses and whatnot back there.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I found this hubcap (hubcapius automotus) growing wild next to Santiam Hospital on 10th Ave. the other day. It seemed to be thriving (note the lack of rust), even though the weather has turned cold and damp. I was a little worried for it, because it seemed to be alone; I understand they do better in groups of four. I hope there were others nearby.
I feel fortunate I was able to catch a glimpse of it, since the wild hubcap is rarely found outside of captivity. Civilization has unfortunately encroached on its natural habitat.

In an apparent ongoing effort to photograph the Salem Ditch, a man made irrigation waterway running from Stayton to nearby Salem, I hereby yet another view. This one was taken on 4th Ave., facing east.
The photo probably looks better when viewed in a larger size.
Fade Into Nothing

Today’s photo is another shot from fog-filled Sunday. I took this shot at the same place I took Tuesday’s photo, a power canal waterway off of 4th Ave.
