Stayton stays pretty green all year round, since we have a lot of evergreen trees, etc. But some things do “die” during the winter, such as the grassy plant pictured above. There’s an alley way which runs midway between 1st Ave. and 2nd Ave. for a few blocks, near the north end of town. I don’t know why it’s there… never thought about it before, actually. This is part of an overgrown field on E. Ida St. I’d stopped near the field to see if any ducks were around in a small creek. No ducks were about, so I decided to play in the green grass for a bit to get today’s photo.
