Corn Festival Car Show
Aug 31st
Today’s photos are more from Guest photographer Debbie D. Dodd, taken at the Boy Scout sponsored car show at the Aumsville Corn Festival, held over the weekend (see also: yesterday’s photo from the Corn Festival parade). Below are more photos from the car show. Click on each thumbnail to see a larger version.
Note: tomorrow I’ll be posting one of my photos for the September 1st City Daily Photo theme day, and then I’ll post a few more photos from Debbie. Stay tuned.

Corn Festival Parade
Aug 30th
Guest photographer Debbie D. Dodd has sent along several photos, most of which are from the Aumsville Corn Festival, which is being held this weekend. I’ll be posting Debbie’s photos as the week goes on.
Today’s photo is from the parade. Debbie added a nifty art effect to the photo. Pretty cool.
For those outside the area, Aumsville is a small town a few miles northwest of Stayton. I don’t know how the Corn Festival came into being, but it’s held each year. I have a vague memory of going once when I was a kid, where I ate corn. I’m not sure why I haven’t been back. I should do that someday.
Tomorrow, I’ll post some photos Debbie took at the festival’s car show. I want to send a huge thanks to Debbie for sending the photos. It is very much appreciated.

A rather large and intimidating Honda Goldwing parked next to my scooter the other day. I didn’t get a shot of the whole bike (there was no good angle from which to do it). I did, however, find myself fascinated by all the buttons and gauges on the dash (is it called a dash on a motorcycle? I have no idea.). So here’s a photo of that. Yep.

If you’re into Twitter, I’ve started a twitter account with notices of when this blog gets updated. I have no idea if anyone would be interested in doing that, but it’s all automated, so no extra work for me. Yay.
I Found My Home

Today’s photo is another rose from next to the parking lot at the Community Center. It has a little bug of some sort on it. It’s a bug on a flower. Woot.
On another note, the Oregon State Fair starts tomorrow. If anyone out there will be attending and wants to take a picture or two for this here blog thang, I would be greatly appreciative. I won’t be going until it’s almost over, and I’d like to get a photo up before then. Read about how to contribute photos here, and thanks!

How about a random bit of train car graffiti for today? The train is still hanging around down at the industrial area of town every time I go by. Not good, since it obviously doesn’t have much else to do. It should be hauling something somewhere.
If you’re having trouble reading what it says, it reads: disciples of imagination.
Spenner Road
Aug 22nd
Spenner Road is just outside of Stayton, off of Boedigheimer Rd. I took this by setting the camera on the gravel and pressing the shutter. That is what makes me the super duper fantastic brilliantly creative photographer I am. In my dreams. I wish I’d angled it a bit differently, but them’s the breaks.
I didn’t venture down the road beyond this point, since it was all gravelly and my scooter was kind of getting stuck on parts of it, so I kind of didn’t think that would be a good idea.
