Yellow & Lots Of It
Wednesday, September 30th, 2009I spotted this cheery spot of yellow outside Jensen-Kreitzer on 3rd Ave. the other day. The weather is starting to change into autumn, so I’ve been looking for any remnants of summer I can.

Continuing my fascination with motorcycles, here’s another photo of another motorcycle. I should create a subcategory for them, so I’ve taken a fair amount photos of them.
I spotted this bike outside of Freres Building Supply on 1st Ave.
You know, in case you were wondering.
These non-crooked palettes were sitting outside the Grocery Outlet on Ida St. the other day. And I, being of the off balance variety, naturally decided they looked better on the diagonal.
Once again, I’m taking advantage of there still being flowers out and about before it gets colder. I spotted these pretty purple flowers yesterday at the edge of someone’s yard on Wyatt Ave. in the Westtown area of Stayton. I feel like I should know the name of this flower, but it just isn’t coming [...]
I am definitely on a sunset kick lately. If that’s not your thing, I apologize. If it is your thing, then I’m glad you’re here.
I took this silhouette of some queen anne’s lace flowers near the corner of 3rd Ave. and Fern Ridge Rd. a couple of nights ago.
I happened by the Star Cinema on 3rd Ave. a couple of days ago, and noticed they have repaired their awesome neon sign. The last time I noticed it, some of the letters were dark. I have no idea when that happened, but I’m very glad they did. The people who run the Star do [...]
As I threatened promised yesterday, here’s another shot of the sunset from two nights ago. I took this one just off of 6th Ave., behind the hospital.
I found out why the sky has been so hazy the last couple of days. There are some wild fires down south, and the smoke has been traveling up [...]
I know this is the third sunset photo I’ve posted in less than a week, but sky was absolutely gorgeous last night, and I couldn’t pass it up. For whatever reason, there was a lot of haze in the air, and it made everything very orange, and the sun was just popping. I may post [...]
I figured I wouldn’t have many chances left to take flower photos before autumn really sets in, so here are some cute little yellow daisies with a couple of flies on them. You know, in case you were looking at the photo and wondering what they heck it was of and needed a verbose description. [...]
I posted a photo yesterday of the sunset a couple of nights ago, and decided to do it again today. This one was taken from the cemetery on 3rd Ave.
The sky was pretty yesterday evening as the sun went down, so I took some photos. I may post another sunset photo tomorrow, depending on my mood. This photo was taken just off of 6th Ave.
I have been told this is pampas grass. A quick look at Google Images appears to back up that claim. Yay. The grass is very tall, and the stuff in the photo sits on top like a blond hairdo, hence the Beach Boys inspired title.
The pampas grass lives in someone’s front yard on Ida St.
I last posted a photo of this particular view back in February, when the trees and overall tones were quite a bit different. It’s part of the Salem Ditch, which is a man made waterway built back in the 1800’s. This spot is on the corner of Washington St. and Larch Ave.
Guest photographer Hugo sent in today’s beautiful photo, a 30 second exposure taken at an old pioneer cemetery in the Mill City / Gates area, on Kingwood, just west of 6S4 (Davis Airport). His description:
This was a night view, looking North, from my favorite viewing site. Sure, it’s a bit spooky, but it is the [...]
I realized last night I still had another photo from guest photographer Debbie D. Dodd to post. She took this sunrise shot a little bit south of Stayton. Beautiful.
Sorry, Debbie, for overlooking one of your photos, and thanks, as always, for sending it in.
