I seem to be in the mood to post random road shots lately. This one is of a hill on Fern Ridge Rd., just after it crosses Highway 22 and clears city limits. This is very exciting stuff, isn’t it? I mean… a road. With stripes and everything. Wow. In other news, is anyone going More >

If you were able to look to the left of yesterday’s photo, you would have seen the above. Which is what you’re seeing now, so I guess you can, after all. I went out with the intent of going further down Boedigheimer Rd., which is just outside of Stayton, than I’d been previously. Instead, I made it to the top of the first hill and found it was so windy, I could hardly keep my scooter upright. As you can see in the photo above, it’s More >

Guest photographer Patrick noticed this nice bit of irony last week outside the Santiam Historical Museum. His description: I took this photo last week. In my own little world I saw the photo as ironic: a sizable tree (with history to it) was being removed from in front of the Historical Society Museum. Anyway, thought More >

It’s been a remarkably long time since I last posted a photo of my favorite Stayton landmark (February, to be exact), so it’s high time to do it again. I’ve been ill this week, so going out and taking pictures hasn’t been working out. I took this in mid-July at Campbell-Grier Cemetery just outside of town.

Guest photographer John Brandt took today’s photo of a dead tree (or part of a tree) in Wilderness Park he doesn’t expect to survive another winter. I haven’t been through that park in some time. I really need to do it again very soon. Once the temperature cools down a bit, that is.

Guest photographer Terri Jo Adams sent in today’s photo of a lovely tree at Lone Oak Cemetery. Her description: This isn’t all that unusual of a picture, I just have always thought this was one of the most beautiful Oak trees I’ve ever seen….. It is beautiful. I always enjoy looking at the trees there. More >

Guest photographer Moe sent in today’s photo. His description: saw this traffic speed checker in Sublimity. thought the numbers were peculiar. I agree. That second number is a bit puzzling. Is it new math? Click on the photo to see it a big larger. Thanks as always, Moe, for your contribution.

Stayton is almost completely surrounded by country roads (the exception is the north side where Sublimity is located, not far down the road). There are a lot of scenes like the one above — trees, grass, and clouds. I took this particular shot along Kingston-Jordan Dr., just south of town, over the weekend.
