How about a random shot of some random Queen Anne’s Lace growing wild in a random field somewhere here in town? I took it last week, and I can’t remember where I took it. Not that it matters, since one can find this stuff growing all over the place around here. I love it… very More >

I know I already posted a sunflower in the last week, but this one is different, in that I managed to get the whole flower in the shot this time. I tried the last time, but it was up above my head and I was shooting blindly. This time it was down where I could More >

I would be remiss if I let August go by without posting at least one sunflower photo. I took this at the edge of a yard across from Pioneer Park a week or two ago, then promptly forgot about it until yesterday. I’m good at forgetting. It’s a gift.

Queen Anne’s Lace grows wild around here, and it’s one of my favorite flowers. It’s even spiffier when a bee (unless it’s a hoverfly, but it really looks like a bee to me) makes an appearance. I took this at the edge of a field on 10th Ave.

Guest photographer Patrick sent in today’s lovely photo. His description: I wasn’t the only person photographing the fields of flowers on and near Kaufman Road today. So retinal! So beautiful! I wish I were there… it looks gorgeous. Thanks, Patrick!

I managed to take a photo this week. Be very proud of me, since I’ve had virtually no free time. Thank goodness for the generosity of my guest photographers. Anyway, this photo is of a yellow St. John’s Wort flower, found as ground cover in a parking strip on 10th Ave. With its cheerful color More >

The lilies have started blooming in my backyard, and since I haven’t been able to go out and take photos elsewhere in the last few days, a lily photo I am posting. This is a lovely orange Asiatic lily. I think. Probably. I know it’s a lily.

There were several people watching the Burn To Learn on Sunday, including several children who picked some wildflowers from the field across the street from the house the fire fighters burned down. It’s nice to see kids enjoying such simple things, without the need for video games, TV, etc. Not that I’m one to talk. More >

Guest photographer Gary Jones sent in today’s photo, and it’s lovely. His description: This photo of a dogwood blossom in our backyard (we live in Stayton) was taken today (June 4th). This particular tree changes color so many times during it’s season, we wanted to try and capture them all. It has already changed once More >

Today’s photo is a shot of a few of the roses which line one side of the parking lot next to the Community Center on W. Virgina St. Sorry it’s a bit blurry, but it was windy when I took the photo a few days ago. Darn wind.
