View of Summer Lake in Oregon

Guest photographer Aspen Thomas sent in this lovely photo from Summer Lake, which isn’t technically in Stayton, but it is in Oregon, so I say it’s close enough. It’s good to go outside of Stayton now and again, since this town is small.

Summer Lake, for those who don’t know, is southeast of Stayton. In fact, just click here for an arial view and location on Bing Maps. I’ve never been there, but it looks rather awesome.

Thanks, Aspen!

  1. I hope you can go there sometime soon — it’s beautiful! Please say thank you to Aspen for me too.

  2. I echo Hilda’s thoughts. Summer Lake is a gorgeous spot, particularly this time of the year. And, the huge flocks of Snow Geese are something to behold.
