Doorway To My Past

This is the back door to Stayton Elementary School. I took it earlier this month for a “doorway” City Daily Photo theme day post, but ended up going with another photo.

This door at the school gets far more traffic than the front, since it’s the door near where the kids get dropped off and picked up by buses and cars.

By the way, how interesting is it I have trouble spelling the word “elementary”? But I’m pretty sure everyone called it Stayton Grade School when I was there back in the early 80′s, so I blame “everyone” for my spelling failure. I have no trouble spelling “grade,” after all.

Yesterday’s City Daily Photo theme day was “doorways.” I posted a non-traiditional doorway then, so I thought I’d post a normal doorway today. This is the entrance to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, a catholic church on 6th Ave., which was built in 1951, according to the inscription on the front of the building.
