I took this photo of a sign in the window of the Key Bank on 1st Ave. two or three weeks ago, then promptly forgot about. But then I remembered, so here it is. Now, this sign can be read two ways. One, they’re offering absolutely nothing with a new account (unless it’s invisible). That’s More >

From the truly random file comes today’s photo of some writing on a newspaper recycling bin at the Circle K on E. Washington St. I don’t know why I’m posting it, but I am.

I happened by a laundromat near the south end of 1st Ave. last night, so I took a picture through the window. After I started this post, I realized I’d taken a very, very similar shot (and even processed it pretty much the same way) back in 2008. I guess my brain decided doing a More >

I took this photo one night a week or two ago of a window display at Cartwright’s Music Repair Shop on 3rd Ave. Guitars are beautiful creatures.

These colorful t-shirts were for sale outside of the Jensen-Kreitzer Clothing store in downtown Stayton on 3rd Ave. In other news, don’t miss the 10th Annual Garden Tour tomorrow (the 27th) from noon to 5pm to benefit the restoration of the Brown House. Visit the Brown House’s web site for more information. I don’t think More >

I’ve posted photos of Rumours Restaurant & Lounge on 3rd Ave. before, but I was in the area a couple of nights ago, so I’m doing it again. I love the lighted signs on this place.

This door and wall are part of the building comprising the old Porter TV & Appliance building on the corner of 3rd Ave. and Marion St. The store hasn’t been open for many years, and shows a lot of wear. Still, there’s something about that building I adore. I bought my first 45rpm record in More >

Yesterday, I posted a photo taken on 3rd Ave. looking south, so for no reason whatsoever, here’s a photo taken in basically the same spot, looking the other direction. This time it’s looking up at some businesses instead of the sidewalk, so I suppose that’s different. For a historical view of things, these buildings were More >

Guest photographer Hugo sent in today’s interesting photo and information: This isn’t a great picture, and possibly not a very interesting one either. But, if you happen to be waiting in line for your donuts on 08/21/2017 a little after 10 A.M. you will notice that things seem “odd”. The day will turn to night More >
