Toys For Joy on a fire truck at Stayton Fire Department in Stayton Oregon

Happy snowman stuffed toy at the Santa Cruise at Stayton Fire Department in Stayton OregonThe 19th Annual Santa Cruise, a fundraiser for the Stayton Fire Department’s Toys For Joy program, was held on Saturday morning. I did my best to take photos, but it was extremely cold (sub-freezing), so I didn’t get as many as I would have liked. I heard there were well over 200 hundred cars. Not bad.

Today’s post is all about the toys, though. The entrance fee for the car show was a toy donation, and of course plenty of folks brought toys, even if they weren’t entering the show. The top photo shows a small portion of the donated toys, which surrounded the department’s awesome old fire truck. They also held a breakfast, and (provided I read a sign posted at the event correctly) the proceeds from that went to the purchase of presents for older children.

Tomorrow I’ll post a couple of photos of the car show portion, then the next day I’ll post photos from the craft bazaar held at the middle school. In tomorrow’s post I’ll also have a photo gallery of the event. Stay tuned.
