This assortment of items was left at the grave of someone buried in Lone Oak Cemetery. I bet there’s an interesting story behind why these particular things were left. For those who care, the beer is Drop Top Amber Ale, made by a brewery out of Portland, Oregon.

This is the back door to Stayton Elementary School. I took it earlier this month for a “doorway” City Daily Photo theme day post, but ended up going with another photo. This door at the school gets far more traffic than the front, since it’s the door near where the kids get dropped off and More >

Guest photographer Jon Goodman sent in today’s photo of a gravestone marker which is slowing being overtaken by moss. He found it at Lone Oak Cemetery, which sits on the corner of 3rd Ave. and Fern Ridge Rd. Well seen, Jon… an image like this really says a lot about the passage of time. Thank More >

This is the entrance to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, a catholic church on 6th Ave., which was built in 1951, according to the inscription on the front of the building.

Today is the November 1st City Daily Photo theme day, and “doorways” is the topic. My photo is something of an unconventional take on it. A drunk driver plowed through the Chase Bank on the corner of 1st Ave. and Locust St. a few days ago, and created an impromptu doorway of his own with More >

This building lives on the corner of 3rd Ave. and E. Florence St. This is a side view of… well, read the title. The building isn’t really this bright blue… I played with the saturation and kind of went overboard. But it’s definitely blue. If I have my buildings straight, I posted a photo of More >

These plastic flower vases were near the shed at Lone Oak Cemetery when I stopped the other day to take a photo for Memorial Day. These vases are used to put flowers in so folks can place them on graves. I think I may have posted a photo of them before, come to think of More >
