Locals may have noticed the street construction on 10th Ave. The south side (shown above) of it is presently closed. From what I vaguely remember reading (I tried to find the article, I swear!), construction will be ongoing over the next handful of months to give the street sidewalks and actual shoulders the length of

Yes, I posted a sunset photo yesterday. But I’ve been ill the last couple of days, so… here’s another sunset photo. In other news, I deleted every single post on this blog a few days ago. I didn’t do it on purpose, of course. The site’s database was having issues, and everything went bye-bye for

The sunset was boring last night. There wasn’t much color and it was pretty much cloudless, so… boring. Mother Nature really needs to step up her game if I’m going to be bothered to actually put on clothing and leave the house to go try to take pictures of the setting sun. So, instead, I

These pink blossom trees were looking quite pretty all lined up along Locust St. by the high school the other day.

It’s been quite some time since I last posted a photo of my favorite oak trees, located behind Santiam Hospital, just off of 10th Ave. They are something of an obsession of mine, because they always provide a pretty scene whenever I pass by them. I want to take them home with me, but I

I love this scenic shot by guest photographer Jim Mullholand of a red barn in a field, backed by those hills. Classic. Thanks, Jim.

More snow photos! Sure, the snow’s all melted outside, but it continues to live on in photos. And will post snow photos for as long as I think I can get away with it. Today’s photo was taken by frequent guest photographer, Jim Mullholand. This lovely blanket of snow was photographed near the close by

We have a photo from guest photographer Denny Barnes of the snowfall we had on Tuesday. He lives a little bit outside of Stayton, and had some serious rain and snow. His description: We had 1.25 inches of rain before it started to snow and then we got 6 inches of snow in three hours.

Guest photographer Jim Mullholand has been taking advantage of the nice weather we’re finally having (yes, I know it’s still winter, but I’m so over that, already) to get some beautiful images. This “big old mossy oak tree overlooks the valley,” as Jim put it. I love big old oak trees. Thanks, Jim!

We had some snow a couple of mornings ago, and guest photographer John Brandt took the photo above along my favorite ditch, which is a man-made waterway. This view is looking towards the Jordan Bridge covered bridge (it is poking out in the middle-left of the photo), which lives in Pioneer Park. Very pretty, John!

Beautiful!
I will never forget the first time I came to Stayton in 2007, and stopped at the library to use a computer… and fell in love with the town instantly, because of the ditch that runs right next to the library. It was one of those amazing sunny days with a temp in the 50s in March… and the water was bubbling along its path… simply enrapturing.
Oh, how I miss Oregon! Thanks for sharing its beauty daily!
