Guest photographer John Brandt has been documenting the start of foot bridge connecting most of Stayton to the new park along the Santiam River. It’s due to be completed here very soon. The above photo shows cement poured into the moldings which will form the base of one side of the bridge. For more photos More >

It’s been a remarkably long time since I last posted a photo of my favorite Stayton landmark (February, to be exact), so it’s high time to do it again. Oh, Jordan Bridge at Pioneer Park, I just can’t stay away. You call to me like a siren’s song. Or that could be tinnitus. Whichever. Speaking More >

Yep, a sunset. It wasn’t intentional, but I happened by this scene, and I had to take pictures. It would be wrong if I didn’t. I took this on the corner of 3rd Ave. and Fern Ridge Rd.

Guest photographer Theresa Smith from D-Tail Pet Grooming sent in today’s photo. Her description: This plane flew over our house a few days back and I liked how the sun was shining of the plane and the “steam” from it. I love plane contrails, and she certainly captured these nicely. Thanks, Theresa.

I apologize for yet another sunset photo. I haven’t been able to go out and take photos much lately, so I’m presently stuck with a whole lotta nothin’. I’ll try to get a little somethin’ as soon as I can. That last sentence sounded a lot more innocent in my head. This photo was taken More >

Holy fudgecicles, it’s another sunset photo. I didn’t want to do it, but I don’t have anything else to share at the moment. Well, that’s not entirely true — I will have a guest photographer photo to share tomorrow, once I get a bit more info on the photo’s location. As usual, this photo was More >

Please forgive me for posting a second sunset photo in the last three days. The weather seems to finally be edging towards… well, not summer, exactly. More like late spring, I suppose. It’s caused me to want to be outside when the sun goes down, since that is my favorite time of day. I’ll try More >

The sky was gorgeous Friday night. I just missed it being completely colorful, unfortunately, but this comes fairly close. I took this photo from the corner of 3rd Ave. and Fern Ridge Rd.

Stayton is almost completely surrounded by country roads (the exception is the north side where Sublimity is located, not far down the road). There are a lot of scenes like the one above — trees, grass, and clouds. I took this particular shot along Kingston-Jordan Dr., just south of town, over the weekend.

Green-ness is the state of being green. This view of my favorite power canal off of the south end of 4th Ave. fits the bill. Kermit the Frog ain’t got nothin’ on this.

Very nice. I love the way you framed the shot. The sky and clouds added a nice touch. Hope that you are able to get out today as it is shaping up to be another beauty.
Thank you for your continuing gifts.
