Sidewalk Concrete, Part 3
Today is the third part of the mini downtown sidewalk tour provided by guest photographer Jon Goodman (see also: part 1 and part 2). Today’s photo marks a sidewalk made in 1912. Jon’s description:
Another crumbling memory from the past, this one on Florence St., alongside the old Stayton Hardware building.
Thanks, Jon, for this walk through the history of Stayton. I appreciate it.

Celine and Jon. Just a minor correction. The building he referred to is the “Old Santiam Hardware and Implement Store which was owned and operated for many years by May and Chris Nietling after whom the Nietling Park is named. Great picture! I love those old reminders of the “old down town Stayton.”
Thank you.

To further clarify, this is one of only two Stayton buildings included on the National Histortic register. It’s the Deidrich Building. The other one is the Charles and Martha Brown house.
