Future Foot Bridge
Guest photographer John Brandt has been documenting the start of foot bridge connecting most of Stayton to the new park along the Santiam River. It’s due to be completed here very soon. The above photo shows cement poured into the moldings which will form the base of one side of the bridge.

I haven’t been out to the new bridge site, but I look forward to seeing it. It’s good to have something new in town.

Guest photographer John Brandt is saving my hide today by letting me use another of his photos. My desktop’s ethernet controller decided to go to sleep and not wake up (seriously, that’s apparently what it’s done), so I stopped fighting it and gave up and went with John’s photo of the side of the city

We had some snow a couple of mornings ago, and guest photographer John Brandt took the photo above along my favorite ditch, which is a man-made waterway. This view is looking towards the Jordan Bridge covered bridge (it is poking out in the middle-left of the photo), which lives in Pioneer Park. Very pretty, John!

That Orange Bridge

I’ve taken pictures of this bridge before, but here it is again. It’s a pedestrian bridge put it last year to create easier access to Riverfront Park. It’s orange because the bridge itself was reclaimed from elsewhere, and the metal on the bridge has been exposed to the elements for many years.

That’ll look great once you get it all polished up. Are you planning to do any inlays? That rebar will be a great way for mom to store all sorts of baking pans and other pieces of cookware.
