Growth & Decay
Nov 20th
Guest photographer Jon Goodman sent in today’s photo. His description:
During a rare sunbreak Wednesday I got out for my walk and found these mushrooms growing on a rotting log behind pioneer park.
Very cool. They look like little pumpkins. Thanks to Jon for sending in another nifty photo.

Down The Line
Nov 18th
Oh, look, I’m posting another photo of trees. But I’ve been ill so I have an excuse. Or maybe I just love trees. Or both.
I took this on Shaff Rd., across from Bi-Mart. No, unlike yesterday’s photo, I did not stop in the middle of the road to take this photo. I would have been squished like a bug if I had. I would like to be thinner, but I don’t think that’s the way to do it. But, on the plus side, maybe I could be the subject of my own children’s book, just like Flat Stanley.
Gardner Avenue
Nov 17th
Yesterday I’d hoped to post a photo of something else, but I wasn’t feeling well yesterday and didn’t get it finished. Instead, I’m posting a photo I took a handful of days ago on Gardner Ave. The trees were pretty.
For the record, yes, I stopped on my scooter and took a photo in the middle of the street. There were no other cars on the road.
Also, in the interest of full disclosure, I cloned out a less than attractive garbage can from the right side of the photo.
And, in the interest of adding something else here you don’t care about, I’ve added this sentence.

I added a section for area churches — visit the area links section.
The Simple Things In Life
Nov 16th
I took this somewhere over in the Westtown area. The photo above was rotated 90 degrees (the original is at right – click on it to see it larger) because it just seems to work better that way.
I’m going to try to post something non-leaves oriented tomorrow. I actually have a bit of a research project I keep meaning to write regarding one of the photos. Yes, I actually did research on a building of which I’m going to post a photo. There is a first time for everything. If I can just get the darned thing written.
I also want to thank again the various guest photographers who have submitted photos recently… y’all rock. If you want to submit a photo or two, please see the contribute a photo section. Thanks.
Autumn Along The North Santiam River
Nov 15th
Guest photographer Debbie D. Dodd sent in today’s gorgeous photo of the North Santiam River, as taken a bit south of Stayton. All those autumn trees are just beautiful.
The photo at right (click on it to see it larger) was taken in a field of ferns Debbie spotted which was growing in a shady spot near the river.
Thanks, Debbie! Your photo submissions are always appreciated.

New Area Links Section Added
In other news, I’ve added a new section to this site for area links I find useful. This includes schools, city/county links, and other community-oriented sites. I hope someone out there finds it handy.
Forever In Our Memories
Nov 11th
I threatened raised the possibility I might post another photo from the same tree which was in yesterday’s photo. While that is true, yesterday’s leaves had already fallen on the ground, and today’s are still on the tree, so it’s pretty much entirely different. Yep.
Again, this photo was taken in the parking lot of Santiam Memorial Hospital on 10th Ave.
Bring Me To Life
Nov 10th
Okay, so… see, here’s the thing. There are still some autumn leaves hanging around on the trees. And I happened to be face-to-face with this tree in the parking lot of Santiam Memorial Hospital on 10th Ave. yesterday. And of course I had my camera. And I feel like starting another sentence with the word ‘and.’ And another.
Anyway, so here’s another autumn leaves photo. I may or may not post another tomorrow. It may even from the same tree. I make no promises.
Autumn at Wallace Marine Park
Nov 9th
Yesterday, I received an email from frequent guest photographer Hugo (the last two days’ photos are from him) saying “if’n y’all get desperate for another daily photo” I could post this one. Like I would pass this up. It’s awesome.
Hugo took this at Wallace Marine Park in nearby West Salem.
Thanks once again, Hugo.

Beautiful Diversion
Nov 6th
We have a new guest photographer today! John Brandt sent in today’s lovely image of the diversion channel between Stayton Ditch and the North Santiam River in Wilderness Park. I love the autumn colors on the trees.
Thank you, John… you’re welcome to submit any time.
If anyone is interested in submitting a guest photo (which would be great!), please see the contribute a photo section.
