Various Ways

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

Yesterday’s City Daily Photo theme day was “doorways.” I posted a non-traiditional doorway then, so I thought I’d post a normal doorway today.
This is the entrance to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, a catholic church on 6th Ave., which was built in 1951, according to the inscription on the front of the building.

The Little White Church

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

I posted a photo a couple of weeks ago of the Church of the Nazarene undergoing a facelift. It’s seems to be mostly finished now, so I thought I’d post an updated photo. Lookin’ good.
In other news, I hereby request to the powers that be that it not rain on Sunday evening, because I will [...]

Getting A Facelift

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

The Church of the Nazarene on Washington is getting a new facade. I posted a photo of the front in May of last year, and they’re making changes to area over the porch and front windows. I wonder how far the renovation will go.

Cross The Sky

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

This is the top (steeple?) of the Calvary Lutheran Church on Fern Ridge Rd, taken at sunset.

Lighted Passage

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

I had to be out and about last night for a bit, so I took a few night shots during my trip. This is the front entrance to the New Hope Community Church on 2nd Ave.

Basement Window

Friday, March 13th, 2009

I posted a photo of the side of the Church of the Nazarene a handful of days ago, and thought I’d post another shot I took of the church, since I haven’t been able to go out and take new photos in the last few days. This is one of the basement windows on the [...]

Church & Cross

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

This is the… um, west side (I think)… of the Church of the Nazarene on Washington St. I’ve posted some photos of the church before (they’ll probably show up in the ‘related posts’ section at the end of this post). It’s a pretty little white church… it really fits the part, in a visual sense.

The Path Seems Pretty Clear

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

See, there’s a sidewalk and everything.
This is a side door to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the same church I used for yesterday’s City Daily Photo theme day post. I have no idea what the door leads to, as I’ve never had occasion to be inside the church, let alone the side door. I should [...]

DP Theme Day: Glass

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

Today is the monthly City Daily Photo theme day. I’m sure I’m not the only one to choose a stained glass window to fit the theme of “glass”… but since such windows are so pretty, it’s a fitting choice.
This window is on the front of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on 6th Ave., across from [...]

The Yellow Window

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

This is a random window on side of the New Hope Community Church on 2nd Ave. It’s yellow. I like yellow.

Spire

Monday, October 13th, 2008

This is the south side of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on the corner of E. Santiam St. and 6th Ave. I posted a partial front photo of the church back in February 2007. I should try the front again soon, since I now have a wider angle lens… well, that and the old [...]

Doorway To Worship

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

This is the front of the Church of the Nazarene on Washington St. It’s a cute little church… the epitome of a little white church, in my opinion. I’ve posted a side view photo of it before.
As someone named Gecko pointed out in a comment on the other photo, the church was once the Baptist [...]

New Life Foursquare Church

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

I think this is the only Stayton church I have left to post to complete the series. I could be wrong, but I can’t think of any others in town.
I’m not familiar with this church, and the closest to a web page for it is their listing on foursquare.org. It appears the church had its [...]

Salem First United Methodist Church

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

It’s day four of our mini-tour of nearby Salem. Today’s photo is of the church where both my maternal grandparents and aunt and uncle both were married many years ago.
My grandparents married there in the 1920’s. My aunt and uncle married there in the 1950’s, on my grandparents’ 25th wedding anniversary. I wasn’t able to [...]

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

A while back I started taking photos of the various churches in Stayton. And then I forgot. But I’m back again with another photo. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is on Western Ave. in the West Town area of Stayton.
I apologize for the lackluster photo. It was raining, and I was having [...]
