An Entire Subset Of The Population Has Been Moved To A Single Weekday
Jul 13th
I have more awesome guest photographer photos to post, but I decided to sneak one of my own in here, because it made me giggle. I spotted this sign outside the New Life Foursquare Church on 1st Ave. two nights ago. It’s much more fun to take it literally, than to put that inferred “group” word in after “youth.”
So if you’re wondering where all the youth went, they’ve been moved to Thursday. This really simplifies things.
DP Theme Day: Statues
May 1st
Today is this month’s City Daily Photo theme day: statues. As usual, I completely forgot about it until yesterday evening, so I trudged out in a light rain and took this photo of a Madonna statue on the grounds of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on 6th Ave.
The statue wasn’t lit when I was there (10:30pm), so this is a 56 second exposure to compensate for the lack of light. I chose this particular statue for the simple fact I couldn’t think of any others in town. And it was 10:30pm, so I couldn’t exactly go tootling around town to try to find others. That was the biggest factor of all, really. Did I mention it was raining?
A whole bunch of other City Daily Photo bloggers are participating in today’s theme day. Click on the link below to check ‘em out:
Various Ways
Nov 2nd
Yesterday’s City Daily Photo theme day was “doorways.” I posted a non-traiditional doorway then, so I thought I’d post a normal doorway today.
This is the entrance to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, a catholic church on 6th Ave., which was built in 1951, according to the inscription on the front of the building.
The Little White Church
Sep 5th
I posted a photo a couple of weeks ago of the Church of the Nazarene undergoing a facelift. It’s seems to be mostly finished now, so I thought I’d post an updated photo. Lookin’ good.
In other news, I hereby request to the powers that be that it not rain on Sunday evening, because I will be outdoors. If this could be arranged, that would be swell.
In other other news, don’t forget I’ve added a Twitter account for Stayton Daily Photo, where new updates to this here blog thang are posted automagically.
Getting A Facelift
Aug 20th
The Church of the Nazarene on Washington is getting a new facade. I posted a photo of the front in May of last year, and they’re making changes to area over the porch and front windows. I wonder how far the renovation will go.

Basement Window
Mar 13th
I posted a photo of the side of the Church of the Nazarene a handful of days ago, and thought I’d post another shot I took of the church, since I haven’t been able to go out and take new photos in the last few days. This is one of the basement windows on the front of the church.

The Path Seems Pretty Clear
Mar 2nd
See, there’s a sidewalk and everything.
This is a side door to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the same church I used for yesterday’s City Daily Photo theme day post. I have no idea what the door leads to, as I’ve never had occasion to be inside the church, let alone the side door. I should go inside the main door someday.
