Late Summer At The Farm
Aug 25th
If you were able to look to the left of yesterday’s photo, you would have seen the above. Which is what you’re seeing now, so I guess you can, after all.

Where We Find Ourselves
Aug 8th
There’s a new bright light on the newest building at Stayton Cooperative Telephone Company on 2nd Ave. which shines onto the water of Salem Ditch. It makes the water look very pretty and sparkly, so I took some pictures.
This is a 30 second exposure, which kind of makes it look like a painting. Click on the photo to see more detail.
Wear The Rainbow
Jun 26th
These colorful t-shirts were for sale outside of the Jensen-Kreitzer Clothing store in downtown Stayton on 3rd Ave.
In other news, don’t miss the 10th Annual Garden Tour tomorrow (the 27th) from noon to 5pm to benefit the restoration of the Brown House. Visit the Brown House’s web site for more information. I don’t think I’ll be able to attend this year due to family commitments, so if anyone has photos to share of the event, I would be most grateful.
Sit & Talk
Jun 23rd
I almost posted another sunset photo for today, but since I’ve done that twice in recent days, I am posting something else. But tomorrow there will likely be yet another sunset photo. I took some last night, and they’re kinda nifty.
Anyway, this bench and pay public telephone sit outside of the Safeway grocery store on 1st Ave. Now, for you youngsters out there, a public telephone is for those who are out and about and need a phone but don’t have a cell/mobile phone. Yes, you read that right — such people do still exist. These people put money in the public telephone and call people. I haven’t used one of those in many, many years. I doubt many people do anymore, because most of them have disappeared.
Location, Location, Location

Guest photographer Patrick sent in today’s photo, which is very cool. His description:
I take a lot of photos of the “locate” marks on the area roads. They attract my attention, perhaps because of the contrast of the color against the asphalt. This one may very well be my favorite so far.
A bit of a departure, but I thought I’d send it your way.
I think it’s great. I’ve never paid attention to these marks before, but I’m going to have to start. They are an art form all their own. Thanks, Patrick!
Somewhere Down The Tracks
Jun 10th
These train tracks (see them on Google Maps Street View) reside beside the intersection of Kingston-Jordan Rd. and Kingston-Lyons Dr., just south of town. Yep. Tracks. For trains.
Oh, hey, funny story — one time, when I was probably four or five years old, my family went on a short trip on a train. It made me ill and I threw up. The end.
I tell the best stories.
Benched
Apr 3rd
Right about now you’re probably saying to yourself, “Self, why in the name of whatever deity I may or may not believe in is Celine posting a photo of a random bench?” That is a very good question. I shall answer it in three parts, though the last part is really more tangential in nature.
One, I want to encourage your propensity for asking yourself the tough questions in life. Just try not to talk to yourself too much, or your family and/or friends might be forced to call the proper authorities.
Two, this isn’t just a random bench. Oh no, it’s a NEW random bench! Yes, friends, this attractive yet functional seat-oriented item sits on the corner of 1st Ave. and Marion St., next to the new building at the Stayton Cooperative Telephone Company (SCTC). I don’t know when it was installed, but I just noticed it the other day, so that makes it brand spanking new for all intents and purposes, because I said so.
Three, I would like to mention while I did get a photo of this new bench, I failed to get a photo of the new building. I am silly like that. I’ll do it someday, unless I get distracted by something shiny. Again.
Oregon Grape Group
Mar 21st
A few weeks ago, I posted a photo of Oregon-grape flowers before they had actually flowered, so today I’m posting one of them actually flowering.
Actually, my real purpose is to see how many times I can use the word “actually” in this here post. So, actually, I think I’m actually doing pretty well on both fronts. I’m actually vaguely proud, if you can be actually vague about anything. Seems actually contradicting… “actually” seems so definite, while “vague” seems so indistinct. But I suppose you actually could be definitely indistinct, but to be distinctly indefinite seems… well, that actually works, too. You know… actually, I give up.
