Westtown Drive
Thursday, March 11th, 2010I thought this view of Westtown Drive (looking south) in the Westtown area of Stayton was pretty when I saw it a few days ago. Still do, in fact, so here’s the picture I took of the view.

Here’s a random photo of a random sidewalk on a random part of 3rd Ave. in the historic downtown area of Stayton. I took this between Jensen-Kreitzer and the Friends of the Library Used Book Store.
One might suspect, judging by today’s photo, that I am out of even vaguely interesting photos to post. One might be right. Instead, I’m posting this photo I took through a fence when I was at the Santiam Senior Center grand opening last week. It looks towards some of the property and equipment owned by [...]
From the random file comes this photo of a hearse parked outside of Weddle Funeral Home on 3rd Ave. Because it was there. A hearse is an interesting looking vehicle… very distinctive. Practical yet somehow stylish. Still, I’d prefer not to ride in one until much, much later.
This gravel road lives along Kingston-Jordan Rd., just barely outside of town. It’s on private property so I couldn’t explore it, but I liked the view of it from the main road.
Here’s the Google Maps Street View, if you’re interested.
This music notes gate lives next to Cartwright’s Music on 3rd Ave. I took this last month, but forgot all about it. I think it’s rather awesome.
From the completely random file, here’s a sidewalk covered in moss. You might be asking yourself, “Self, why is she posting a photo of a sidewalk covered in moss? Is she out of decent photos again?” The answer is yes, I am currently out of decent photos. Blame the weather, as it’s been uncooperative lately. [...]
When I was at Cartwright’s on Saturday night for a concert, I took advantage of the situation and took more photos of the musical instruments lining some of the walls. I adore this guitar — don’t know if it’s electric, acoustic, or a hybrid — so it’s the one I’m posting. I know, brilliant of [...]
Okay, so yesterday I kinda lied. I said I wasn’t going to post any Christmas-related photos until next December. I was so wrong.
Today’s photo is a detail macro of a Christmas decoration, but it doesn’t really look like it’s a Christmas decoration, so I figured why the heck not. It’s Christmas as I write this, [...]
As promised yesterday, here are a few photos I took of some of the musical instruments at Cartwright’s Music Repair a few days ago. Thanks to Ken for letting me wander the place.
Don’t forget to read about how you can help get Stayton’s community radio station KENC back on the air!

I took this a few days ago at the Safeway grocery store on 1st Ave. The little bitty pumpkins all tied up in net bags looks cute.
In vaguely related news, I still have a room full of Halloween decorations to put away. I’ve almost decided to call it “theme” room and call it good. [...]
You know, in case you were wondering.
These non-crooked palettes were sitting outside the Grocery Outlet on Ida St. the other day. And I, being of the off balance variety, naturally decided they looked better on the diagonal.
Randomness day — some numbers on a brick post. I spotted it in front of Ace Hardware on 1st Ave. This is why all three or four of you come here everyday, isn’t it? Because it’s so very exciting.
Spenner Road is just outside of Stayton, off of Boedigheimer Rd. I took this by setting the camera on the gravel and pressing the shutter. That is what makes me the super duper fantastic brilliantly creative photographer I am. In my dreams. I wish I’d angled it a bit differently, but them’s the breaks.
I didn’t [...]
This ashtray sits outside the post office on 2nd Ave. The person who used it obviously favors Winston cigarettes, and smokes a lot of them.
There is a law here in Oregon now where you’re not supposed to smoke within 10 feet of a door at public places (or inside them, for that matter), if I [...]
