I happened by a row of cherry blossom trees on 3rd Ave. as the sun was setting a couple of nights ago, and this is the result. Well, one of the results, anyway. Can’t take just one photo of anything, ya know.

DP Theme Day: Passageway

For this month’s City Daily Photo theme day — passageway — I did what I normally do, which is forget completely about it and then take a photo on the last possible day. At least I’m consistent.

This photo was taken at the entrance to the main forest pathway at Wilderness Park. It’s the first thing I thought of when trying to choose what to photograph for the theme.

Yellow, Green, And A Bit Of Purple

I was down by the library on 1st Ave. when I spotted an Oregon-grape shrub on its way to bloom. Oregon-grape (sometimes spelled Oregon grape, without the hyphen) is Oregon’s state flower. I’m going to try to watch for when it is in bloom, so I can get another photo.

For more info on Oregon-grape, see its Wikipedia entry. It explains why it’s not really a grape, among other things. Though now I have a craving for actual grapes. Hmm.

I took this photo of my favorite oak trees located behind the hospital off of 10th Ave. a couple of weeks ago, but didn’t get around to posting it. It was foggy that day. So I took a picture.

An Early Spring

It is odd to have daffodils in bloom… like the tree blossoms I posted yesterday, it seems to be about a month early. I wonder how our mild winter will affect the coming months.

Pink Ladies

Spring seems to have come a bit early this year. Tree blossoms, like those shown above, are sprouting up around town. I took this particular photo in the parking lot of Stayton Cooperative Telephone Company on 2nd Ave.

Coast Road Trip, Part 6

Here’s another installment from my central Oregon coast road trip. I’ve decided to make it an even week, so there will be another post tomorrow.

These shots of waves was taken a bit south of Depoe Bay, if I remember correctly. Click on the photo at right to make it bigger. I had never taken photos of waves before, so I can’t say I did them justice… it was fun trying, though.
