Burn That Field Down, Part II
Sep 2nd
Guest photographer Terri Jo Adams sent two more nifty field burning photos, to go with the one I posted two days ago (I’ll post the other photo tomorrow). Her description:
This was out on Doerfler Rd Sunday the 29th of August. There were so many field fires that day, all of a sudden, that it was impossible to count them all. Amazing! It was difficult not to get caught up in the excitement and activity. I’m not a big backer of field burning but this day made it all a little more clear to me for some reason.
Thanks, Terri Jo!
Turn Towards The Light
Aug 16th
I know I already posted a sunflower in the last week, but this one is different, in that I managed to get the whole flower in the shot this time. I tried the last time, but it was up above my head and I was shooting blindly. This time it was down where I could get to it.
I took this photo on E. Hollister St. I think.
Post-Burn Beauty
Aug 10th
Guest photographer Patrick sent in today’s photo of a farm field after a controlled burn. His description:
The recent photo on your blog of a field burn in the distance prompted me to send this photo to you. I have been photographing the fields for three years now, usually highlighting the post-burn beauty that can be found in the contrasts. This one I took last week.
It really is beautiful. I don’t think I’ve ever really looked at one close up like this before. Thanks, Patrick, for providing yet another unique photograph.
Field Burning Time
Aug 4th
Today’s photo comes from guest photographer Terri Jo Adams of distant field burning. There are a lot of farm fields surrounding Stayton, so there’s a lot of controlled field burning, a technique used to clear and/or renew farm fields for reuse, this time of year. I haven’t had a chance to go out and capture any of it this year, so extra thanks to Terri Jo for doing so.
Red Enough For You?
Jul 31st
Guest photographer Patrick sent in today’s very colorful photo of berry flats at Norpac Cannery. His description:
I don’t know if you can use this photo, but I thought I’d send it to you anyway. Red enough for you? I’ve been meaning to find some berry flats stacked and waiting to be filled out in a field, but the wall of flats at Norpac was the next best thing…for now.
Very cool, Patrick! I love shots like this, so it was a no-brainer to add it here. Thanks, as always, for your contribution.
