Click here to view the panorama in a much larger size!

This is a panorama of the front of the public library and the surrounding area, which mainly consists of a parking lot. If you click on the links above, you can see both the Photosynth (a quasi-3D environment using photos) plus the large size of the panorama.

Jordan Bridge (Again)

Jordan Bridge (Again) in Stayton Oregon

Click here to view a Photosynth based on this scene! (Windows-based machines only)

Yesterday I posted a shot of a small power canal, and linked to an accompanying Photosyth I created of the area around the canal. It makes a quasi-3D environment by automatically converting a series of overlapping photos into a virtual space where one can click around to see various views of a scene.

I've created a new Photosynth which shows Jordan Bridge, a bit of Pioneer Park (where the bridge resides) and across the street to Neitling Park. This is again a very basic usage of capabilities of Photosynth. I intend to explore it more so I can create fuller environments.

I've also created a panorama based on the images I used for the Photosynth. Click below to see it much larger:

Obviously, it's not really curved like that, but so it goes with panoramas.

Stayton Canal

Stayton Canal in Stayton Oregon

I've posted pictures of this little power canal between 3rd and 4th Ave. before (here's one, and another, but this time I wanted to try something a little different.

If you have a windows-based computer, you should be able to view a Photosynth I made for the area around the canal. It's kind of like a panorama, but it takes individual photos and displays them in a quasi-3D environment. You will need to install a small plug-in to view the Photosynth. click here to view the it (I tried to use its embed feature, but it didn't display properly).

This was my first time trying this, so it's not perfect. I plan on doing it for other areas around town, as I learn more about how best to do it.
