I had never noticed this before a handful of nights ago, but now that I have it has me wondering — why are there two fire hydrants a few feet apart from each other on the corner of 3rd Ave. and Fern Ridge Rd.? They sit on the corner of the Weddle Funeral Services property. I’m sure there are rules and regulations about this sort of thing, but I can’t remember having seen two of these little dudes together like this before.
Is it because it’s near the power sub-station? I wouldn’t think they’d use water on that, since it would likely be an electrical fire. And I doubt the cemetery across the street would need that much water. So… anyone know? I’m clueless, as usual.
Whatever the reason, I’m glad they have each other. Life can get lonely, so it’s good to have a friend.
