Guest photographer Jeff Shultz caught this bit of demolotion on 2nd Ave. His description:
A nasty (and unsafe) looking lean-to is torn down at Trask Mercantile.
I had been wondering about that part of the building… it was really old and in bad shape. Now I wish I’d thought to get a picture of it. Thanks, Jeff!
Last night was the first free outdoor concert of the summer, held as part of the Meet Me On 3rd Ave. concert series. I wasn’t able to attend due to illness, but friend and guest photographer Jeff Shultz went and took a ton of photos for us to enjoy!
Jeff has a gallery up of over 100 images from the concert — from the band to other attendees, including some adorable kids.
There’s a list of the rest of the concerts on the Meet Me On 3rd Ave. Facebook page.
Thank you so much, Jeff!
I don’t normally run three separate guest photographers’ photos on the same day, but there was a rather spectacular rainbow last night, and three guest photographers captured it beautifully. The photo above by Matt Aalto starts us off. His description is adorable:
A few minutes before sunset, I caught this double rainbow. Both rainbows covered the entire sky for several minutes. I even thought about running outside and acting like this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQSNhk5ICTI, but I held back…maybe.
Jeff Shultz caught the one above. His description:
An absolutely vivid rainbow looking east over Stayton from 3/4 of the way down Ida St – about 8:45pm Monday 6/17/2003. Shot from my back porch – I first saw it through the screen door and it seemed to take up the entire width of the door.
And finally, we have this beauty by Su Yoder. I’m sorry I missed the rainbow myself, but I am very thankful to have such wonderful guest photographers. Thanks, all! You guys rock.
